In terms of national awards, the Ladies tennis program is one of the most successful programs in the Kenyon College athletics department. Within the last 25 years alone, the Ladies have collected three national titles, four national runner-up finishes, and nearly 30 All-American certificates.
On an individual basis, Caryn Cuthbert '00 highlights the Ladies' ledger. She was a four-time NCAA All-American singles player and a three-time NCAA All-American doubles player. In the 1998 season, Cuthbert paired with Erin Hockman '99 to win the NCAA doubles championship. During her career, Hockman was also a three-time NCAA All-American in doubles play. Preceding that pairing were Kathryn Lane '92 and Katja Zerck '93. Each collected a trio of All-American awards in their time at Kenyon.
In the academic arena, Zerck was one of two Ladies to be named a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American. Amy Rowland '97 was the other and she earned the honor in back-to-back seasons. In 1999, Hockman's balance of skills and smarts produced an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.
At the conference level, Kenyon women collected 13 NCAC Player of the Year awards since the 1986 season. Since 1995, seven different Ladies earned the conference's Newcomer of the Year award.
